Privacy Policy
Last updated: 22 June 2026
Summary: Classly is a tool for tutors and their students. We collect only what we need to make the app work, we never sell your data, and your data is stored securely in our database (Supabase / PostgreSQL). Each person can only see their own records, and you can request deletion at any time.
1. Who we are
Classly ("we", "our", "the app") is a mobile application that helps solo tutors manage students, classes, attendance, and fees, and lets students view their own records and pay fees. It is available on Android and iOS.
For any privacy-related questions, contact us at support@classlyapp.com.
2. What data we collect
2.1 Account
- Name and email address — used to create your account and sign you in.
- Role — whether you are a teacher or a student.
- Sign-in method — you can sign in with email, Google, or Apple. If you use Google or Apple, that provider confirms your identity to us; we receive your name and email.
2.2 Teachers
- UPI ID — so students can pay you directly.
- Classes — class names, fees, and schedules you create.
2.3 Students
- Enrolments, attendance, and fee records — the classes you join, your attendance, and the fees your teacher requests.
2.4 Optional
- Phone number, if you choose to add one.
3. How we use your data
- To provide the app's features — managing classes, attendance, and fees.
- To show each person only their own data (a student cannot see another student's records).
- To sign you in and keep your session secure.
- To respond to support requests.
We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell your data to any third party.
4. Payments
Classly does not process, hold, or transfer money, and we never see your card or bank details. Fee payments happen directly between the student and the teacher over UPI, inside your own UPI app (such as Google Pay or PhonePe). Classly only records that a payment was marked as paid by the student and confirmed by the teacher.
5. Storage and security
Your data is stored with our infrastructure provider, Supabase (a managed PostgreSQL database), with encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest. Access is enforced at the database level by row-level security rules, so each account can only read and write its own data.
6. Student data and your responsibilities
If you are a tutor, you are responsible for the information you enter about your students. By using Classly, you confirm that you have appropriate consent (from students, or their parents/guardians where a student is a minor) to store their information. We process student data on your behalf as a data processor; you are the data controller.
7. Your choices
- You can edit your profile and UPI ID in the app at any time.
- You can request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing support@classlyapp.com with the subject "Delete my account". We will delete your data within 30 days.
8. Children's privacy
Classly is intended for tutors and their students. Where a student is a minor, an account should be set up and overseen by a parent or guardian.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. The "last updated" date above reflects the latest version.
